There was a traveling site out of the U.K. that put together what they believe to be the one must do tourist attraction in each country if you could only choose one. Take a look at America's "must see" and decide if you agree or if you think it should be something else. I've honestly never been to the particular tourist spot they chose so I couldn't even tell you if I agree, but would love to hear what you have to say!

Boy with skin disorder finds best friend in dog with same condition

Rowdy, a 14-year-old dog with vitiligo, is helping to change the way kids with the same skin disorder see themselves.

An 8-year-old Arkansas boy and a 14-year-old dog in Oregon diagnosed with the same skin condition met for the first time this weekend, after an anonymous donor saw a news report on their online friendship and offered to help. Carter Blanchard and a black lab named Rowdy both have vitiligo, a skin disorder that appears as patches of lighter skin throughout the body.
"Around the age of 11, he started to get just a little white," Niki Umbenhower, Rowdy's owner, told KATU.com. "I didn't think anything of it. I just thought he was getting old."

Now media planners can easily identify the best TV audiences for their offers. Civis Media Optimizer works with existing data e...
Thousands of miles away and around the same time, Carter began noticing patches on his skin.

"I used to pick up Carter from school from kindergarten and first grade, and the first thing he would say is that he hates his face and hates his skin," Stephanie Adcock, Carter's mother, told KATU.com.

Adcock found Rowdy's Facebook and Instagram page, where Umbenhower shares fun photos and updates, and shared it with Carter. For the next year, the two began building their "digital" friendship, with Rowdy helping Carter build more confidence about his skin, Adcock said.
"[Rowdy] really changed the way he saw his own skin," Adcock told KATU.com. "It wasn't a problem anymore. So ever since then, we have been keeping in touch."

Through a donor's generous contribution, Adcock and Carter boarded a plane, and met Rowdy and Umbenhower in person, with the boy and pup becoming fast friends.
"I had goosebumps when I think about the moment they walked through the door," Umbenhower told Fox 8. "I'm actually tearing up."

"Really, it was life changing for him," Adcock told Fox 8. "It changed his childhood for the better, it was a gift I couldn't give him."

Rowdy has recently suffered some health complications, and Umbenhower is hoping to raise enough funds to help other children with vitiligo meet Rowdy.

NoW that St. Patrick's Day is over...you know you are thinking about the next holiday, Easter! However, if you are like me you might not always want all the chocolate that comes with the visit from the Easter Bunny. Don't get me wrong, if it has cruch to it with krispies or nuts I'm all about the chocolate. But if I were to choose I'd go for the salty or savory over the sweet just about any day. If you would like to bypass the chocolate then the Cheester Egg might be just the thing for you. What is the Cheester Egg you ask? You'll have to go and read for yourself by clicking below...I think you'll like it!

Will famous 'Family Wanted' five seeking Kansas home help other kids get adopted?

Overwhelming national interest in five Kansas siblings seeking adoption is drawing prospective parents to other children needing homes, a state official said Tuesday.

"It's definitely started the conversation" about adopting — even among people with slim or no chance of taking in the five siblings made famous by a recent "Family Wanted" appeal in The Star, said Theresa Freed, spokeswoman for the Kansas Department for Children and Families.

Freed said several interested households already have been identified as good fits for siblings Olive, Landon, Layla, Preston and Bradley, who are ages 2 to 11. Some families may enjoy a head start, having completed the 10-week training course for adoptive parents in Kansas, she said.

While Freed encouraged prospective parents to keep inquiring about the siblings if their interest is serious, their finances are up to it and their residences are large enough, she noted that the staff at AdoptKSKids.org — an online adoptive exchange — this week began steering hundreds of users to think of other needy children to love.

"They may not be children receiving as much attention as these five, but they are in just as much need of good homes," Freed said.

As The Star's "Family Wanted" online feature drew more than 4 million readers by Monday afternoon, thousands of inquiries about the siblings so clogged AdoptKSKids.org, the Kansas Children's Services League removed the children's profiles to catch up with requests for information. The children's services league contracts with the state to run the site.

Adoption officials and caseworkers hope to keep the siblings together in Kansas. Many prospective parents inquiring this week live in other states, and some of those going online are being directed to a national exchange, AdoptUSKids.org.

"We'll stay in touch with Kansas to see what we can do with these overwhelming numbers — causing what I call 'good stress,' " said John Levesque, deputy project director at the Maryland-based website. "Now how many of those people are willing to move forward ... to maybe become a full-time foster or adoptive family in their communities?"

Responding to the famous five siblings, "people all over the country weren't just thinking about adopting those kids but, wow, they were making calls. Something stirred them to call."

In a nation of 112,000 children looking for permanent homes, Levesque said, one call is a start.

Today I read some tips on Cosmopolitan on how to be happy. Coincidence that I was just writing about being happy in a blog of my own the night befre? I think not. Cosmo gave great suggestions like "playing with a puppy", "watching kitten videos", "going to a concert" and other things to make yourself happy. I ask, "What makes you happy" and a little more if you want to read more on it, right HERE. But ultimately think about it, what makes you happy? Try doing it a little more!

A 19-year-old Michigan man who was previously in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's tallest teenager has finally found an affordable pair of shoes to fit his size-28 feet, thanks to a 3-D printer.

Broc Brown — who is 7 feet 8 inches tall — has Sotos Syndrome, also known as cerebral gigantism, which affects about one in every 15,000 people, the Jackson Citizen Patriot reported.

Brown's aunt, Stacy Snyder, said that along with abnormal size, Sotos causes Brown to have chronic back and knee pain, along with other ailments. Snyder said no one is sure when he will stop growing.

"I can walk in a store and walk out with five pairs of shoes if I want to," she said. "He can't."

California-based Feetz stepped in to help. The shoe company uses an app to convert photos of someone's feet into a 3-D model, which can be measured to create custom-fit shoes manufactured by a 3-D printer.

Feetz CEO Lucy Beard delivered a pair of black and red shoes to Brown at his home in Michigan Center last week. The shoes were the colors of Brown's favorite basketball team, the Chicago Bulls.

"Whoa," Brown said. "Heck, I don't like them. I love them. Thank you."

Beard said it was a first for the company.

"We've never done a shoe this big before, but we're just excited to get Broc some comfy shoes," Beard said. "We're really just honored to do this."

Beard said Feetz shoes cost between $99 and $250, versus the typical custom-fit shoes that cost a minimum of $400 to $500.

Until he turned 18 in 2015 and could no longer qualify, he was considered the tallest teenager in the world. With his new shoes, Brown thinks he can get back in the Guinness Book of World Records.

"These definitely are the world's largest 3-D-printed shoes," he said.

From the first moment I saw them, I was not a fan. I understand people will argue they are extremely comfortable and are great in many ways, but they, in my opinion, are some of the most hideous "shoes" I've ever seen. After reading some terrible escalator stories like the one HERE I'm just adding up the reasons on why I shall never wear CROCS. A new study found the average public pool contains up to 20 GALLONS OF URINE. And hot tubs are even worse because there's not as much water to dilute it. One hotel hot tub they tested had three times the concentration of urine as the worst swimming pool. So how much pee is in that pool?
