Happy GIRL SCOUT BIRTHDAY!!!
Today is the Girl Scout program's Birthday! Whether you love the program for the cookies or because it filled your youth with inspiring activities and lessons, let's all give a cheer for a program that is now just a tish over 100 years old!
Can you believe it? Over 100 years of Girl Scouts! What a great program. If you're looking to get your daughter into something that will help her with experience and self esteem and friendship building... I cannot say enough about the Girl Scout program. It's where you build friends for life. Funny thing is, I still remember the names of almost each and every girl in the picutre above, because most of them were in my troop for all 5 years I participated in the program.
Girl Scouts build self esteem by helping girls learn fundamental skills for the world. Just look at where these former Girl Scouts ended up ... First Lady Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, journalist Lisa Ling, the first American woman in space Sally Ride, singer Mariah Carey, and actress/comedian Mary Tyler Moore.
