Holy goldfish Batman!!
Conservationists from the University of Nevada have been finding something interesting in their nets while working on Lake Tahoe - oversized goldfish. Yes, goldfish like the same ones you get at the pet store, throw in a bowl with water and a few rocks.
Now they're taking over the lake's ecosystem, which means bad news for the resident fish and their food supply.
How do these monsters get there? By people doing something they may think is good for the environment, but is quite the opposite, dumping their aquariums into fresh bodies of water.
Pretty crazy how much of an impact these former pets can make on our ecosystem.
Moral of the story? Don't give in to the practice of aquarium dumping.
We're not the only ones having an issue with this species wild release. The pic below hails from France. Now THAT's a monster!!
