Cupcakes For A Cure Meets Bras On Broadway
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and fundraising for Bras On Broadway is in full swing. All the funds raised stay right here in the community and help pay for gas cards for women who have to commute to get their breast cancer treatments, like Kayla's mother used to.
Meet Kayla (above left). She is a superstar cupcake maker and student (where does she find the time???). Her passion for getting involved with Bras On Broadway came from personal experience. In 2002 Kayla's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer (please make sure to check out her story under podcasts on the Lucy page), but she didn't let it slow her down, even though she had to make the commute to Bismarck to get treatments (on top of work and family and kids in sports... ).
Kayla is raising money for Bras on Broadway by baking cupcakes and her goal is over 2,000. Today, when she stopped into the Bob 95 studios she said she's at 700 and counting.
Let's help Kayla reach her goal! She's accepting orders through the end of October.
Not only is it for a great cause, but those cupcakes she's baking up are delicious!!! (take it from somone who's eaten a few already, i.e. ME)
