If you missed the debut of the songs on BOB95 Tuesday night with Ian, listen to them below and let us know in the comments what you think of them!
Dierks Bentley: “Woman, Amen”
Yes, the song is all about Bentley’s wife, Cass, and is the lead single off his’ new album The Mountain. Per Dierks- “The song’s about gratitude, and the song is just the cracks in your heart and love and how you really need to have those failures and those cracks to really let love get in, so it’s an inspiring song. There’d be nothing without Cass and the way she’s not only made my life, she’s been through the ups and downs and made me a better person,” he continued. “I don’t know where I’d be without her. So, for me to get the message of the album out there, I want to start with this song and this important message about the women in my life, the women in our lives. There’d be nothing without them. For me, it’s just an important way to start the album.”
Maren Morris: “Rich”
“If I had a dollar for every time…” That is the popular saying that gave Maren the idea for “Rich” as she navigates a relationship with an unreliable guy. Working with he songwriters, Maren said in an interview with Rolling Stone “That’s what I’ve always gravitated toward. If you listen to a John Prine song or a Johnny Cash song, everything is said poetically. But it’s not trying to be poetic – it’s actually very plainly stated. But you connect to it and it’s beautiful,” she said. “I appreciate the art of saying it like it is.”
