Everyone has that one household chore that they loathe doing. The good news is that we’re now even closer to robot housekeepers! The Sun is reporting that robot housekeepers are set to go on the market in the next decade to take care of the cleaning, the cooking, and probably all kinds of other things.
Although, get ready to pay up for the convenience. Early reports are that the first models will cost about as much as a new car- $20,000 to $50,000.
Engineers at the Mass. Institute of Technology say that the “humanoid machines” make sense as modern homes have been built and arranged around the human body, and that researchers are also working on AI brains that can adapt to different ways of doing chores (for example, learning which dishes go in which cupboard when it unloads the dishwasher).
