It’s not the first time Miranda Lambert has called out fans at her shows, but over the weekend Miranda Lambert stopped singing Tin Man during her Las Vegas residency to address fans taking selfies.
In a TikTok that has been circulating showing the moment, Lambert is heard saying “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s p—ing me off a little bit… We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music” before restarting the song. While many concertgoers cheered, some fans can be seen in social media videos walking out of the show- in one video a fan is heard saying “Let’s go… you don’t do that to fans”.
It has reignited the discussion about cell phones at concerts. Some asking who doesn’t take pictures at a concert, and defending the fans for capturing a memory of the evening, others praising Miranda for addressing the situation. Some artists, such as Garth Brooks, have gone as far as requiring concertgoers to leave their phones outside of the venue before the show.
Do you think Miranda was right to call out the selfie-takers?
