Okay, so the suspect is from Texas, but if it happens in Florida he’s still a Floridiot, right? WOFL-TV is reporting that Jaythan Gilder entered the Tiffany & Co. store in Orlando under the guise as a person representing a player for the Orlando Magic and was escorted into the VIP room of the store. Police said the suspect then grabbed two pairs of earrings valued at $160,000 and $609,500, respectively, and a ring worth $587,000 eventually making off with the earrings.
Two days later, Florida Highway Patrol stopped the suspects vehicle where during the arrest, Gilder “swallowed several items”. believed to be the stolen earrings. After being booked into a local jail, a body scan showed the earrings making their way through Gilder’s digestive tract.
Gilder was taken to the Orange County jail and he was booked without bond on charges of grand theft and robbery with a mask. He was also charged with resisting arrest during the traffic stop. It has also been discovered that he is wanted for 48 active warrants in Colorado.
