Riley Green did not graduate from college. He DID attend Jacksonville State University on a football scholarship from 2007 to 2009 before dropping out to pursue his music career. Now in 2026, he’s not only a college degree holder, but it’s a Doctorate Degree.
Riley was invited back to Jacksonville State to deliver the commencement address for the Spring Graduates. You can check that out below. As a part of the commencement, JSU presented Green with a Doctor of Letters- Honoris Causa (Latin, “for the sake of honor”) for his musical achievements, the support he provides to his community, and for being an ambassador for the University.
So, there you go kids. You can drop out of college and still end up with a degree if you follow your dreams and make it big.
