Old way of finding out school is closed: getting a robo-call from the school district
Older way of finding out that school is closed: Turning on the TV and waiting for your school to appear on the screen crawl
New way: getting a rap from the school superintendent.
It happened down in Bixby, OK, a suburb of Tulsa, where Superintendent Rob Miller has been making rap and music video parodies since 2020 to announce that school has been called off.
In an interview with KJRH-TV, Miller said: “we wanted to replicate it as much as possible because the juxtaposition of myself, a 63-year-old white guy trying to do Eminem in a rap song, is what makes it funny.”
